System Upgrade

Client Brief

 

We were asked to take over the management of an existing irrigation system that had been neglected and was no longer functioning effectively. Following a detailed inspection, it became clear that the system had not been professionally maintained and that minor repairs would only provide short term results. The client wanted a long term plan to restore full reliability and modern smart functionality.

Our Solution

 

Working closely with the client and their gardener, we developed a phased programme to progressively replace and upgrade the system over several seasons, prioritising the most urgent elements first.

​

In the first year we replaced the pump. The following year we upgraded the controller and decoder network. In the third year we replaced the failing rotors. Finally, in year four, we craned a new twenty two thousand litre poly tank over the house to replace the damaged steel tank, positioning it carefully by hand. We also constructed a new irrigation shed to protect the entire system and improve long term accessibility.

The Result

 

The estate now benefits from a fully functional, high performance irrigation system with over twenty five zones. It operates through Hydrawise app based control, paired with a flow meter for precise zone scheduling, detailed usage data and automatic alerts. The result is an efficient, resilient system designed to perform reliably for many years to come.
